NAAB Standards Revision: Stakeholder Input

To ensure that stakeholder input is both meaningful and representative, NAAB is using a structured listening approach comprised of:

  1. A stakeholder survey, sent to NAAB programs, site visiting teams, Collateral member organizations, and state licensing boards, is designed to complement and build on prior input by gathering current perspectives on issues facing architectural education and practice, the structure and content of the Conditions for Accreditation, potential areas for future inclusion, and limited demographic information to help contextualize responses.

The stakeholder survey serves as the primary mechanism for identifying cross-cutting themes and areas of shared concern across architectural education and practice.

  2. A series of input sessions with NAAB programs, site visitors, Collateral member organizations, and state licensing boards, are designed to explore themes uncovered through the survey and prior feedback.

For each session, survey findings will be presented by Jeff Day, FAIA, NCARB, NAAB Standards Revision Committee (SRC) Chair and Marc Medwed, Ed.D., NAAB Director of Accreditation. Following, we invite participants to engage in a structured discussion around these emerging areas. The discussion will be facilitated by Mark Mistur, AIA, NAAB President; Jeff Day, FAIA, NCARB, NAAB SRC Chair; Tanya Tamarkin, NAAB Executive Director; and Marc Medwed, Ed.D., NAAB Director of Accreditation.
